This Association is a non-profit charitable
organization funded mainly by the Province of
Manitoba and supported by individual and
business donations, bequests, fundraising
activities and donated volunteer.
In 1963 a group of Neepawa communitymembers established the first rural association for
persons with development disabilities in Manitoba.
In the beginning the Association served an area of central Manitoba between Portage,
Brandon, Birtle and Dauphin. This area was about 400 square miles that included the
The Association took the name Touchwood from these hills and along with the park like block
of land that was acquired in the north end of Neepawa the name Touchwood Park was adopted.
Today Touchwood Park continues to operate under the direction of a community based
elected volunteer board.
Touchwood Park provides employment for 60 staff members from Neepawa and
surroundingarea. Touchwood Park supports 32 people inresidential homes, with another 19
people residing independently in the community and 52 people who attend the Day Service
Touchwood Park supports Individuals with developmental disabilities. "Plan your dream.... we
